WAAVP-AN Community of Practice
Welcome to the WAAVP-AN Community of Practice. We are a collaborative network of professionals and institutions committed to improving animal health by preventing and controlling animal and zoonotic parasites. This CoP serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices on the control of veterinary-parasite species across sectors and disciplines in Africa.
It brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including veterinarians, researchers, government officials, international agencies, NGOs, livestock producers, data specialists, and social scientists, among other professionals, to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, promote evidence-based strategies, and coordinate regional and global responses to animal health challenges.
By encouraging continuous learning, peer support, and collaborative problem-solving, the CoP enhances capacity in disease surveillance, early warning systems, outbreak response, vaccination campaigns, and policy development. Ultimately, this contributes to animal welfare, public health, food security, and sustainable livelihoods in Africa.
