Community of Practice

Welcome to the WAAVP-AN  Community of Practice, a collaborative network of professionals and institutions committed to improving animal health by preventing and controlling animal and zoonotic parasites.This CoP serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices on the control of parasites of veterinary importance across sectors and disciplines in Africa.
It brings together a diverse group of stakeholders—including veterinarians, researchers, government officials, international agencies, NGOs, livestock producers, data specialists, social scientists, among other professionals—to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, promote evidence-based strategies, and coordinate regional and global responses to animal health challenges.
By encouraging continuous learning, peer support, and collaborative problem-solving, the CoP enhances capacity in disease surveillance, early warning systems, outbreak response, vaccination campaigns, and policy development—ultimately contributing to animal welfare, public health, food security, and sustainable livelihoods in Africa.
